PET Bottle Recycling Technical Difficulty

PET bottle is pointed out as the culprit of marine pollution and global warming, and the solution to these problems is recycling. Avoiding the creation of garbage and wasting resources is also an important trend of environmental protection and carbon reduction. Various strategies and guidelines around the world are focused on more environmentally friendly plastic product design, higher plastic waste recycling rates, and more high-quality recycled materials, all of which are helping to drive the plastic recycled materials market. Among them, the EU proposes to modify the basic requirements for plastic packaging of products when it is put on the shelf, with the goal of ensuring that by 2030, plastic packaging on all EU markets can be reused or easily recycled.

We use about 100,000 metric tons of plastic bottles every year! With such a huge amount, how can it be recycled? First of all, we can reduce the opportunity to use, remind ourselves to carry environmentally friendly water cups, reduce the desire to buy bottled drinks, and under long-term cultivation, the amount of PET bottles will be considerably reduced in a year! If, you still can't help but buy a bottled drink, don't worry, the next is the highlight of recycling, PET bottle recycling is divided into the following three steps:

Step 1: Empty bottle rinse.

To avoid bacteria and odors during stacking and recycling, a simple rinse is carried out first.

Step 2: Flatten the empty bottle.

In addition to saving more storage space for disposal, this step also saves space for recycling trucks and indirectly reduces the carbon footprint of the recycling process.

Step 3: Plug the cap back.

Plug back the cap, which is also made of plastic. Why bolt it back? Because bottle caps are also plastic that needs to be recycled! But often recyclers find that most of the bottles recycled, the caps are missing. To avoid contamination caused by the cap falling into the environment, remember to bolt the cap back with your hand.

The whole PET bottle is plastic, the bottle body, cap, label paper are three different materials: PET, PP, PVC, do not open when recycling! Because dismantling makes the bottle cap and label paper invisible during the processing process, reducing the proportion of recycling. Simply rinse, flatten and close the cap, and it can be recycled. In the factory, after being crushed by the machine, it will be separated by different material densities, so that a complete PET bottle will be well recycled.

According to the EPD, the used PET bottles are simply sorted and recycled, and sent to "subdivision factories" by cleaning teams or waste pickers, where they are sorted and compressed into blocks according to material. Then send to the plastic recycling treatment plant, after unpacking, washing, delabeling, screening, crushing, flotation, dehydration, crushing, PET fragments are produced; It is then sold to plastic "processing plants" for the production of recycled products such as silk drawing and textiles.

Because of the simple material and relatively low disposal cost, this type of garbage collection value is high. As long as they are not wrong, they have a high chance of being reused. With everyone's persistence and efforts, the effectiveness of recycling can be improved, and the implementation of recycling can be simpler, and everyone is responsible for maintaining the environment.
